This June, the next great chapter in community-run events continues to unfold with 

, taking place June 6-8, 2025 and brought to you by the team behind last year’s hit SorceryCon event.

For the SorceryCon team, this event is a bit of homecoming. David Cornwell and Alex West, the visionaries behind the very first 

 in Seattle over a year ago, are once again bringing the community together in the city where it all began. 

at the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center, The Unland Cup builds on all the elements you’ve come to know and love from a SorceryCon event: a welcoming atmosphere, a celebration of camaraderie, and a mix of casual and competitive play. 

“We really work to make sure that our events are, first and foremost, a place for people to come and share their love of Sorcery with one another, no matter what part of Sorcery they love the most,” notes event organizer David Cromwell.

If you’ve ever traveled for a gaming event, you know the logistics can sometimes be as tricky as landing the perfect Chaos Twister. That’s why the SorceryCon team has chosen a venue that makes things as seamless as possible for those looking to travel from across the realm to the Unland Cup.

Located just steps from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center is easily accessible for out-of-town attendees, no rental car or rideshare required. And if you want to explore downtown Seattle after a long day of casting spells? The light rail will take you there in minutes.

At the heart of the Unland Cup is the Unland Constructed tournament, capped for this event at 128 players. But unlike past SorceryCon constructed tournaments, this time they’re doing something new. Once the dust settles and the Top 8 emerges, those final matches won’t be crammed into an already exhausting day. Instead, the Top 8 matches will take place on Sunday as best-of-three untimed matches, allowing games to play out without the pressure of a ticking clock.

Of course, SorceryCon has never been just about competition. Event organizers Alex and David emphasize that there’s plenty to explore beyond the Cup itself. “We’ve always made sure our events focus on the entire Sorcery community,” David adds, “Whether you’re here to compete, trade, collect, or simply admire the artwork, we want to ensure there’s something for everyone.”

From 2-Headed Dragon Constructed events to guest artists, Alex and David’s focus on blending structured competition with community-driven formats is at the core of SorceryCon’s philosophy.

And that’s what makes the Unland Cup special! It’s not just about winning matches. It’s about putting faces to Discord names, sharing a laugh over a well-played spell, and being part of a gathering that feels like home.

“I’m most excited to just hang out with Sorcery players again,” David shares, “And who knows—maybe I’ll even get in a few multiplayer games myself.”

Now, of course, it wouldn’t truly be a 

 card reveal without appreciating the mesmerizing art behind it!

When Drew Tucker puts brush to paper, the outcome is typically an evocative blur of movement, emotion, and texture, something more conjured than merely painted. True to form, his latest piece for 

’s Gothic set, titled Swap, brilliantly exemplifies this signature style.

“This is a crazy piece for me,” Drew says. “I imagined that the spell causes all the creatures to panic.”

Indeed, through his depiction, viewers are hurled headfirst into a whirlwind of magical chaos with creatures scattering, colliding forms, and dynamic lines barely holding together the scene. It’s pure chaos distilled onto canvas, yet somehow harmoniously captivating.

Drew Tucker is widely celebrated for his atmospheric and often dreamlike approach, and this hallmark mood shines vividly in this piece.

“That’s a rabbit hole of a question,” Drew laughs when asked about how he creates such ambiance. “But in short, it’s often through saturated color and something close to tonal painting. I also contrast calm and energetic brushstrokes, and play with the subconscious language of color, marks, and shapes.”

He adds, with a wink: “Maybe the truest answer is that my glasses are almost always a bit smudgy - sort of like Monet’s cataracts.”

Mechanically, Swap opens up intriguing opportunities for surprising plays that are sure to delight or confound players, depending on if they are on the receiving end or not! 

Visually, Drew embodied that energy by exploring an equally surprising set of reference photos. With sources, ranging from vintage photographs of mosh pits and police riots to playful explorations of shadows cast on his backyard fence.

The end result? An artwork practically vibrating with motion, every stroke racing toward escape.

“The emotion I was aiming for is that frantic, panicked energy. Pure, visceral chaos," Drew shares.

And with Swap, Drew Tucker captures exactly that, transforming disorder into art in a way uniquely his own.

Unleashing Chaos: Drew Tucker's Vision for Swap

 are back at it again and this time, they’re inviting the world to SorceryFest 2025, a three-day community-run celebration of 

 players, collectors, artists, and fans. Taking place June 20-22 at the historic Catshuis Boutique Hotel in Leewarden, the Netherlands, this community-driven festival promises to be a truly unique experience.

Hosted by Ron Dijkstra and Richard Boonstra, better known as the Trolls of the Realm, SorceryFest brings together competitive and casual play alongside great food, fine art, and the kind of welcoming atmosphere that has come to define the 

SorceryFest's venue, the Catshuis, was in first built in 1805 as a police and fire station. Now transformed in a boutique hotel, its rich history and character provide the perfect backdrop for 

, Europe’s largest Old School TCG gathering, 

 was born from the same love of nostalgic, art-forward card games.

“When we played our first Sorcery games, it gave us the same excitement we felt playing Old School,” Ron shares. “We wanted to create a space where 

 is celebrated by people who love art and strategic gameplay.”

Across the weekend, attendees can dive into three premier events: an 

 booster draft, a constructed tournament, and a sealed event featuring 

 cards. Draft kits will be provided, but players are encouraged to bring their own.

? No problem. The Trolls have crafted an experience that’s welcoming to all, with casual drafts, learn-to-play sessions, and a community-first atmosphere where fun trumps competition.

“We’re most excited for the gathering itself,” Richard explains. “We hope everyone leaves feeling part of something special, having made new friends and amazing memories.”
