This past weekend, Sorcerers from across the Realm gathered under the neon glow of SCG CON Las Vegas for our final Crossroads of the year. From packed learn-to-play tables to fierce championship matches, Vegas delivered a weekend full of high-stakes showdowns, unforgettable moments, and the unmistakable energy that makes the Sorcery community shine.

A Return to Vegas

SCG CON Las Vegas felt less like a stop on the circuit and more like a homecoming. As soon as the doors opened, players old and new streamed into the Sorcery area. There were plenty of familiar faces from previous SCG CONs, including Pete Hanson, who attended every Crossroads of 2025 from Australia and Germany to Gen Con, Houston, and Baltimore. Among these veterans were also countless eager first-timers, creating the kind of mix that only happens at the end of a year defined by tremendous community growth.

Crossroads Championship: Las Vegas

The final Crossroads Championship of the season brought together a wide range of strategies and skill levels. The field included everything from blazing Fire aggression to patient midrange shells and clever off-meta brews that kept opponents guessing. With Gothic just around the corner, it was clear that players were not only refining familiar archetypes but also experimenting with new configurations before the next era of Sorcery begins.

After a full day of duels, momentum swings, and careful play, the Top 8 emerged.

Top 8 Decks

As the final Crossroads of 2025, Vegas showcased a field that was not only competitive but also creatively diverse, a fitting close to an incredible year of play.

The Last Snapshot Before Gothic

Las Vegas offered us one final look at the state of the realm before the arrival of new cards from Gothic. The event revealed not only the evolution of a metagame that developed over the past six events, but was also full of creative experimentation and strategic adaptation as players prepared for the next chapter of Sorcery.

Steppe, non-Water castle (Glastonbury Tor), plus a fair number of fire sites and Rift Valley, have shown how Fire continues to be predominant, but now has been combined more with Earth rather than Water. It might be an attempt to fight fire itself with Earth's defensive and bigger options.

After six Crossroads events this year, players arrived in Las Vegas with refined lists and hard-earned insights. Key adjustments, such as adding Bury and Dispel, played a crucial role in the champion’s success. Read about the winning deck here.

Community Connections

Throughout the weekend, the heart of the event remained the community itself. Friends reconnected across the tables, new players received their first lessons, and even seasoned competitors found themselves stopping to explain rules, interactions, or cheer someone through their first successful strike. For many attendees, it felt less like a tournament and more like the final gathering of a year-long journey.

From the volunteers who helped run learn-to-play sessions to the judges who kept matches on track, and from the SCG staff managing logistics to every player who brought their enthusiasm to the hall, the Las Vegas Crossroads was a collective achievement from start to finish.

Looking Ahead

With the last Crossroads of 2025 now behind us, the excitement shifts to the arrival of Gothic on December 5. New Avatars, new mechanics, and new themes are about to reshape the realm, and players across the world are preparing to explore everything this dark and atmospheric set has to offer.

More information about Organized Play in 2026 will be coming soon. Until then, thank you to everyone who joined us this year, whether at a Crossroads event, a local gathering, or simply around a kitchen table.
