Scott Kirschner

Scott Kirschner graduated in 1991 with a degree in Illustration from the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia. He began his professional career shortly afterward, creating illustrations for Magic: The Gathering alongside editorial work for Philadelphia publications and participating in fine art exhibitions. Between 1993 and 1997, Scott painted a total of 43 cards for Magic.

After stepping away from commercial illustration, Scott dedicated himself to refining his craft. For many years, he balanced full-time jobs with a personal commitment to painting, using the time to develop the distinctive style that would later define his fine art career.

A turning point came in 2012 when one of his paintings was accepted into the inaugural exhibition at Philadelphia’s Arch Enemy Arts. The following year, he held his first solo exhibition at the gallery, discovering a creative home whose imaginative themes perfectly aligned with his artistic vision. Since then, Scott has continued to exhibit regularly, selling numerous works through Arch Enemy Arts and presenting multiple solo exhibitions.

Scott joined the world of Sorcery: Contested Realm in 2023 with his first commissioned painting for the game. He returned in 2024 to create seven additional illustrations, bringing his evocative and atmospheric style to the realm.

In 2025, Scott fulfilled a longtime dream by leaving his full-time job to pursue art full time. Today, he continues to create original paintings, exhibit in galleries, and illustrate fantasy worlds, embracing life as a full-time artist.

Notable Achievements

Scott considers becoming a full-time artist his greatest achievement to date, realizing a lifelong dream after years of balancing painting with full-time work.

Among his proudest career milestones is having two paintings selected for Spectrum 24. As a young artist, Scott spent countless hours in bookstores studying past editions and admiring the work of the artists who inspired him. Seeing two of his own paintings published alongside those heroes marked a deeply meaningful moment in his career.

Scott has also held two solo exhibitions at Philadelphia’s Arch Enemy Arts, a gallery that has played an important role in his artistic journey.

In September 2025, Scott presented a gallery exhibition in Delaware, where all 13 original paintings sold, resulting in a complete sell-out of the show.
