The world of Sorcery: Contested Realm is about to witness an exciting milestone as the Sorcerers at the Core, a dedicated volunteer group working to grow Sorcery in Europe, prepares for their most ambitious event yet - the Siege at the Core 64-player Constructed Tournament in Brussels, set to take place on December 7, 2024. Organized by a passionate team of Sorcery enthusiasts and supported by a growing network of volunteers, this event embodies their mission to strengthen the Sorcery community across Europe and celebrate the most recent Arthurian Legends set.

A Passionate Community Comes Together

The Sorcerers at the Core are no strangers to building connections. Founded in January 2024, they started with a simple Discord server and live events, all aimed at connecting Sorcery players across Europe. The founders - Christophe Vanhamme (owner of Aquila Gaming), Niek Van Lissum, and Lazlo Cootmas - quickly saw their vision grow.

“We love Sorcery, and we’re committed to supporting and connecting the player base here in Europe,” they share. “A 64-player tournament is a great goal to end our first year with a bang.”

The group’s dedication to growing the community has been evident through their monthly online leagues, weekly drafts, and collaborations with local game shops. Now, with the upcoming Siege at the Core event, they’re ready to take it to the next level, and the excitement is palpable.

A Unique Competitive Experience

What sets Siege at the Core apart is the attention to detail and the immersive experience it promises. Set in the historic Papier Quartierin Brussels, the venue alone evokes the kind of epic grandeur that Sorcery: Contested Realm is known for. “The venue can accommodate up to 200 players, but with 64 spots for the main event, we want to provide an enhanced experience where players can meet artists, compete, and enjoy the day," Christophe shares.

The tournament will not only focus on competitive play but will also feature side events, artist meet-and-greets, and exclusive art opportunities. The event will be live-streamed throughout the day, allowing both attendees and remote fans to participate in the excitement.

For those attending, the expectations are high. The Sorcerers hope that players leave with a strong sense of connection to the European player base, new deck inspirations from Arthurian Legends, and lasting memories from this one-of-a-kind event.

A Day to Remember: Art, Prizes, and More

While the main event focuses on competition, the Siege at the Core will also offer a celebration of the artistry behind Sorcery. Two of the game’s legendary artists, Vincent Pompetti and Séverine Pineaux, will be in attendance, offering fans the chance to purchase exclusive art and interact with the artists who have helped to bring Sorcery’s realm to life.

The rewards are enticing for those skilled enough to climb to the top of the competition. "The Champions of the Core will be greatly rewarded with honor and fame," Christophe shares, adding "but also with special signed art prints, unique cards, special playmats, booster packs, boxes, and more!"

Looking Ahead

The Sorcerers at the Core have proven that they’re not just organizing an event; they’re creating a community that values connection, appreciation of Sorcery's artists, and the love of the game. As they wrap up their first year with the Siege at the Core, they look ahead to what’s next with enthusiasm.
