Player Guide
Sorcery: Contested Realm is an "old school" fantasy card game for players with a rich imagination, tactical nerve, and an appreciation for hand-painted art.
Beneath our 'kitchen table' sensibilities lies a deep, complex and engaging gameplay experience. Pulling from a diverse range of cards and settings, each game is as much a narrative experience you can share with friends, as it is a battle for tactical supremacy.
Two players take the roles of Avatars, assemble their own decks, and then cast a variety of elemental spells, summon powerful minions, and shape the world around them from their Atlas to grow their domain and destroy their enemy.

Rules, rulings, and community
For those who want to dig into the nitty-gritties, we embed game-term definitions directly into our Online Card Library. When reading a card, you can follow the links into our expansive Codex, so answers are never far from the cards themselves.
To help with common questions, we've been consolidating what players ask about specific cards and interactions, and created FAQs in context on those cards.
For the old-school enjoyers, you can download our Rulebook here and dive in.
There is also a super friendly and helpful Sorcery community on Discord that are happy to answer any questions, so be sure to head over there and meet your fellow sorcerers, clarify rules, and find some locals to play some games with!

Formats
Lay out a game mat on your kitchen table and let the story unfold.
Constructed
The Constructed format is a canvas for players to express themselves by crafting unique decks, showcasing their creativity and strategic thinking. Players build decks from their collection and hone themselves in the crucible of battle against equally prepared opponents.
Draft
The Draft format is a true test of skill. Build decks on the spot from a rotating selection of booster packs. Pick a card and pass it on. Harness the chaos, explore emergent strategies within the cards your opponents pass you, and draft a unique and exciting deck.
Sealed
The Sealed format is a means to test your mettle and hone your skills. Build decks on the spot from a predetermined set of booster packs that you open. Explore any emergent strategies that you see as the cards present themselves, and face off against a littany of opponents.
Dust
Dust is a loyalty system for all Sorcery fans. Earn it through every booster box opened and every seat pulled up to a table at a local game store or event attended with friends old and new.
Dust is our way of saying thank you to the players and stores who make the game wonderful. Use it to purchase items on the Dust Reward store such as exclusive promos, alt-arts, playmats and more.
