“Heave! Ho! The Giants Awaken!”
While frogs leap and wolves howl across the Realm, another tribe is beginning to stir - taller, stronger, and ready to reshape the Realm.

Today we're catching up with Ryan Graveson, best known for his YouTube channel Roaring Turkey. You’ve also likely seen him at community events throughout the year, like 2024’s Courtesan Cup where he placed 7th place. Over the past year, Ryan has been developing advanced gameplay content aimed at experience Sorcery players looking to refine their skills and his latest deck takes a page from the giants of myth: massive minions who bide their time before stomping across the board with overwhelming force - all led by the Pathfinder Avatar.
Blending early-game site denial with midgame domination, Ryan’s Pathfinder Giants deck is a powerful and strategic contender in today’s meta - and a whole lot of fun to play.
Get to Know Ryan
Ryan: “I started creating Sorcery content in February 2024. At the time, most content out there was box openings or learn-to-play videos. I wanted to make content for players who already knew the game and wanted to level up. One of my first experiences was getting absolutely crushed by Zalem in three games with a Seer Spirits deck that had been dominating my local scene. He helped me rework it into a Pathfinder Spirits deck, and that became the focus of my first video."
Which eventually him down the path, ahem, so to speak, to this Pathfinder Giants Deck. Let's take a look!

Ryan: "The deck is a tribal deck, so it focuses on a specific subtype of minions: Giants. Since Giants tend to be higher costed than other minion types, you needs something to do in the early game... and that something is site destruction!
Attacking my opponent's mana helps keep them off more powerful big spells and give my Giants a better chance to survive once they hit the board. With Pathfinder’s avatar ability providing innate site development, I’m usually up on mana, which is a huge advantage as the game goes on.
The deck is really just trying to survive in the early game, Pathfinder can take time to get going because your thresholds don't always work out the way you want them to. Once you get a couple of big dudes down in the mid game you'll start to turn the corner."

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE KEY CARDS IN THE DECK?
Ryan: "Rebecks and Blunderbore are the obvious MVPs here, it’s a Giant’s deck and they both buff Giants! Alongside them, Siege Giant and Atlas Wanderers also play crucial roles in repositioning Pathfinder or creating favorable attacks.
Additionally, Root Spider does double duty in the early game. It helps enable Slumbering Giantess, and it can also trap enemy minions in place. Then, when Blunderbore drops, another Giant can come in and gobble them up to grow even stronger. That combo’s always satisfying."
What are Some of Your Favorite Tactics to Use with this Deck?
Ryan: "Lumbering Giant was in early iterations of the deck but I decided that because I only have 2 cards that buff my Giants, I need to make sure that every Giant in the deck is strong enough on its own that it doesn't feel bad to play without those two. Rescue was another card I was playing because I liked being able to get Blunderbore and Rebecks back from the grave, but it was just too clunky to see early on so I decided to cut that as well.
One reason I really like this deck is because it matches up well against Sorcerer. Attacking Sorcerer's mana is very effective at keeping him down on cards since to play a site, he has to presumably draw it for turn and then tap to play it, denying him two opportunities to draw spells. It’s also decent into Archimago, who tends to use big finishers like Craterize or Arcane Barrage to close games, but that match up is still tough as his removal is often enough to stop my Giants in their tracks.
Water decks can also be a paint, because my Root Spiders are useless against water sites, and my Earth-based removal spells (Bury, Earthquake) are dead in those matchups. I run a couple Fire spells for damage, but it’s definitely a weak spot."

Final Thoughts
Ryan: "One of my favorite moments when playing this deck is having a Siege Giant throw a Kobold over a Perilous Bridge to land the death blow on an opponent who was hiding out in the corner of the Realm. That’s the kind of cinematic moment that makes Sorcery so much fun.
I’m really happy with the deck’s current form, but i’m always fine-tuning it. I keep going back and forth on how many Poison Novas and Earthquakes I want to run. But no matter how I tweak it, it always feels great to pilot."
Stand Tall with the Giants
Ryan’s Pathfinder Giants deck is a masterclass in positioning, planning, and overwhelming strength and if you love a good tribal deck, or just want to see a Kobold fly through the air like a cannonball, this deck delivers.
