Dead on Arrival?
The biggest issue I’ve found with this deck has been consistently reaching the Water threshold needed to play most of the Water cards.
I wanted to build something that scratched that control itch while still allowing me to be fairly aggressive with the Air minions. I found that cutting a couple of the more defensive/utility sites and bringing in Deep Sea made a big difference. It gives the deck a much more reliable way to hit its Water threshold, especially if I can fish for Deep Sea during the mulligan.
I’m also still unsure whether Ruler of Thul has a place in this deck, or what role it would fill. That’s something I’ll need to explore further through playtesting.
Overall, I’m having a lot of fun with this deck. Once I have the right thresholds in place, it runs smoothly and does what I feel Avatar of Air should be doing. It has a nice balance of control and aggression, and when everything comes together, the deck feels really satisfying to play.
Experimenting with adding in the Rack.
Update: 13/10/26
Swapped Bane for a third Boulder and cut a few of the 4-drops to make room for some smaller, more aggressive minions.
