sorry if this is to long, I did try to format so itâs not a wall of text : This is a low mana curve , ready for beat down Water/fFire BattleMage !
A good amount of the time my first draw, I will take a site and thatâs the only site I draw all game ..
I also will try to make a T shape with 3 Back row sites so I can place clay gollum on the front site to ramp and defend all in one. Will o wisp also defends well in this T shape since they have void walk and are very sticky.
on turn 2 and even turn 3 alot of the time I play my site back row next to avatar instead of in front like most players do. Unless I go second and have smoke stacks or sink hole in hand .
Doing the T shape gives my opponent only one site to âchargeâ into early game, and makes defending a lot easier. The formation also allows your Battlemage to step any direction and pick off weaker minions and draw you a card.
having only 4 mana is Ok most games ,unless you draw poison nova . I have found if I really need the poison nova to clear the board taking the turn to draw and play a site is worth it . And doesnât feel as bad as I originally thought it would .
With such a low mana curve (and lots of testing) I was finding myself left with 1 unspent mana a lot of the time. Trinket really feels strong in this deck because bigger battle mage good đ, it canât be destroyed since it keeps returning to hand , it helps minions trade up , and allows us to be more efficient with All our mana.
orm infester is added because any extra healing â€ïžâđ©č helps since battle mage is in the action taking damage itâs also very helpful to counter Blade ofThorns down side. The burn to your opponent is a bonus .
because all spells except polymorph and polar explorers are only 1 threshold I had room to add 2 sink holes to atlas.
After all why Not!
Most Magic players know the power and frustration of an opponents Strip Mine. Since BattleMage needs to get in and hit the enemy Avatar having another way to deal with frustrating lands like gnome hollow is important.
turn 4 clay gollum on curve ,into turn 5 feign death allows us to Draw a second spell for the turn and also hit a land drop while still having the Battlemage untapped to move/attack or defend.
The fact that gollum requires no threshold helps make playing it on curve a no issue. A super fun play is when youâre lucky enough to have gollum pull a sink hole or a smoke stacks off the top of the atlas after itâs death right trigger.
Dream play : turn 4 sinkhole front middle with clay gollum on top . Next turn activate sinkhole replace your rubble, feign death gollum replacing their rubble draw 2 cards for the turn and have gollum untapped for defense allowing battle mage to move up .!
For all those players that just want to get in and swing with their Avatar. This is my attempt at a âVoltronâ
style deck.
