"Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.”
-Shakespeare
This list was adapted from the many Mono Fire Pathfinder lists around, not trying to pretend otherwise.
I wanted to add this primer to highlight a few tweaks for flavor/personal touch and to talk about experimenting more with the “harpy strike movement mechanic”. Role playing wise I envisioned a minion grabbing the bloody crown off their foe only to become the next “royal” target.
Under Construction:
9/1/26 Current “Demon Package” Experiment:
Buff demons improving chances of Harpy strike. Also more airborne versatility with fallen angels.
Cornerstone Event Reflections:
The original deck wound up getting top 8 on 8/15/26 which I was very happy about!
I made the title to this deck before playing so it would have been cool to win the Cornerstone with that title but alas I got eaten by grey wolves instead…ggs Sorcery can be a very swingy game but that’s a part of its charm!
The overall game plan for this deck stays about the same as usual. Pathfinder wants to solidify zipping around the realm reliably getting to 5-6 mana. A quick note to new Pathfinders that I learned to be helpful is to be a little patient and try trading up/waiting to strike but still use your mana. This isn’t just a turn your minions sideways kind of deck and you want to spread out your threats across the realm to help protect against board wipes. Don’t be mistaken though the deck with the right draws can become really aggressive if it needs to!
Here are a few other things that I added/observed:
-Fire Airborne minions
I really think airborne fire minions are currently under appreciated! Their diagonal movement particularly after a harpy flight can really put your opponent on the back foot.
-Giving Lethal to Dragonettes and Kobolds
It can really help win the board after your opponent commits their turn to playing a high cost minion. It gets a bit trickier when they have ward of course! I may add some fire bolts in the future to help ping targets and kill pesky early minions a bit more reliably.
-”Flying movement + Harpy Strike” (trinkets and sword /crown to boost power making the likelihood of being to target more things on the board). I had one great play to put someone on door when I flew to their 1 power token struck it and then attacked their undefended site. I think they expected to have one more turn given the position of my minions on the board as this minion did not have airborne itself.
-Unfortunately, I thought the courts would impact the meta more severely than I witnessed across my 6 games. At least so far maybe people don’t have access to the courts or simply aren’t building around them (yet). I thought a lot more exceptional “low to the ground” minions would be played so a deck like mine would take advantage of that and out value them by utilizing the lethal mechanic and the “harpy strike”. One of the LGS that I played at used a lot of fire or splash fire so I was surprised to not see that and instead faced majority of earth and root spiders galore. Askelon Pheonix was one sad fire bird :( At least I didn’t run two as I originally thought I might.
”Giants Package”
-I am not sure about this overall. Siege Giant looks great and having them possibly have charge with Balor getting charge looks very strong. At least in my 6 games Siege Giant didn’t make much of an impact compared to my other charge/strike minions. Balor did some work but I am thinking about trying a “Demon Package” instead with Fallen Angels for more Airborne support. Do you like to run the Giant package in your mono fire lists? Comment below!
Root spiders
-I guess mono fire has to have some weaknesses but this little guy can stop us in our tracks completely. If you are in a heavy earth meta not sure how to stick in enough casting ability for future lava flows. Any ideas would be appreciated. Can anything else in Pathfinder lists stop them? Splash more air mobility? Risks threshold screw though. Let me know!
Silver Bullet over Tool Box?
Not sure but maybe future iterations use exceptional spells for more diversity/aoe capability? Bullet might be too slow or even taxed making it harder to cast and play on the same turn.
RoM? or not to RoM? that is the question…
-With so few spell casters maybe RoM isn’t even worth running? Pathfinder doesn’t seem nearby much of the realm to use this so I may substitute for Flame of the First One or another weapon?
Let me know your thoughts, particularly if you are a Pathfinder enjoyer as well. I am curious about other mono element Pathfinder builds such as mono water or earth so be on the lookout for those lists on my end!
