Persecutor Midrange Aggro on LOW BUDGET - Gothic Precon-Upgrade
This is an upgraded version of the Gothic Persecutor preconstructed deck built around efficient aggression backed by powerful removal and combat tricks on low budget
The deck aims to establish early pressure with aggressive minions, force favorable trades through Persecutor's ability, and finish games using high-value demons and burn spells. Rather than relying on a single combo, it wins by constantly presenting difficult threats while keeping the opponent's board under control.
Take control of the board early using creatures like Redmane Hyena, Holy Warrior, Sinterfee, and Autumn Unicorn while removing opposing threats with Bind Evil, Smite, Trial by Fire, Blaze, Searing Truth and Begone!
Once the board is stabilized, deploy larger threats such as Pudge Butcher, Greater Blood Demon, Cherubim or Shackled Demon to overwhelm your opponent.
If the opponent manages to stabilize, the deck can transition into a burn plan using Blaze, Blaze of Glory, and Persecutor's natural pressure to finish the game before control decks fully take over, better with few equipments like Peacemaker Arbalest to Ranged his attacks and enchancing the damage output to Avatars or big minions or even the Flaming Sword to swipe hordes in a single hit.
A good opening hand should contain:
Avoid hands that contain:
The deck performs best when applying pressure immediately so... straight foward the Sites.
Just the BEST single removal: with the second ability of Persecutor you can turn any minion into "Evil" and Persecutor ability and Begone! neither either target the minion, so you can hit Stealth and even treat as Evil a minion that can't be modificated too, btw. Also it doens't need to be in the same region, ALSO doesn't trigger Deathrite skills 'cause it banishes!!! What an amazing card to Persecutor.
One of the best tempo cards in the deck. Giving mobility or extra combat pressure often creates unexpected better trades in attacks.
Good removal that also punishes medium creatures your opponent expects to keep alive without need to strike 'em down.
A fantastic midgame threat that demands an easy way to wake her up with a lot of sites and few minions.
One of the strongest board-control minions available, allowing favorable trades while maintaining pressure. Chess flavour included.
Big demon early is amazing, 20% of your total life hurts, but if you deal at least one hit with him it pay itself, right?
My playgroup have a trauma of Land Destruction from other specifically card game BUT in this game isn't that Evil... I think. It basicly force to all minions move out or die in this, and if it is a good enemy site it's even better. In rare cases you will deny some Elemental Affinity or prevent the enemy to cast something, but that increases pressure throughout the game and rewards aggressive positioning.
Trade aggressively during the first few turns.
Don't be afraid to spend removal early if it protects your life total.
Pudge Butcher, Blood Demons, Holy Warrior and Slumbering Giantess usually swing these games back in your favor.
Focus on maintaining board control rather than racing.
Try to make every removal spell hit a valuable target, keep that Begone! to the MVP.
Apply constant pressure.
Don't overextend into board clears if you suspect them.
Force awkward answers by playing threats one at a time instead of committing everything.
This deck rewards efficient sequencing, smart positioning for Ranged and projectiles, and knowing when to switch from controlling the board to attacking the enemy Avatar. It has enough interaction to survive aggressive openings while still presenting powerful threats throughout the game, making it an excellent midrange strategy for both newer and experienced Sorcery players.
This list is intentionally built on an extreme budget. The goal was not to optimize the deck with expensive staples, but rather to upgrade the Gothic Persecutor preconstructed deck as cheaply and efficiently as possible using cards that were readily available at MY local game stores.
As a result, some card choices may not be considered optimal, but each inclusion was selected to improve the deck's consistency and overall performance while keeping the total cost to a minimum. I hope this list serves as a useful starting point for new players looking to get more out of the precon without making a significant investment.
