Mud Archimago awakens Great Old One.
DECK PERFORMANCE:
Deck now performs consistently, and feels unfair. Suggestions welcome. Still missing some firepower for finishing games at times so it can go long, but it offers great control game to get to long game, and some combo pieces are ridiculous.
It feels like this deck could go against water decks well. Have to test. As always with control - agro is the problem matchup, albeit you could squeeze some games with optimal site placement and removal.
COMBO PIECES:
Philo stone is home with Archimago, making for just ridiculous card cycle speed.
Orb of Ba'al Berith and Algor Omphalos are must answer game winning threats in this deck.
Casting Mesmerism twice or having it proc twice with orb of Ba'al Berith leaves a bad taste in mouth. God forbid recasting it 4 times with Ba'al Berith active. People will hate you.
Casting toolbox on submerged minion allows you to use Fire Harpoons! for removal, card draw, and spell in grave for 4 mana, prioritize when able. (its fun!) You can also Fire Harpoons! your submerged Great Old one to quickly swing for 16. Or just use Grapple shot. Against water you cast it submerged on River rapids and next turn you can swing for 16. Don't surface without a plan to deal 16 damage same turn.
Vatn Draconis can surface, be Riptide-ed to adjacent site and submerge as removal.
If you get King of the Realm you can swing into token strategy for win.
The Lady of the Lake can restore Orb or Omphalos. Or in desperate times return ramp mortals to hand (If you have Craterize in hand).
Orm infestor is healing and Fire Harpoons! caster.
Coy Nixie is played with Thin ice package, and works with Vatn Draconis for efficient removal.
You will want to ramp fast, but prioritize efficiency over speed.
Always play water sites forward to opponent! Riptide into troll bridge or on thin ice is a removal that replaces a card.
MAY INCLUDE/CUT:
One way you could go is remove 1 Sow the Earth and Vatn Draconis and just add 2 Chains of Prometheus. Could be more consistent.
Easy cut is also 1 Toolbox for 1 Acid Rain if you play in hate site environment. And vice versa. Can remove Pied Piper for 1 tool box also.
