Deck Overview
***The main theme of the deck is high card draw and recursion from your cemetery to take advantage of the Templar discount and continuously deploy knights***
• Avatar: Templar (reduces the cost of your first Knight/Sir/Dame each turn by 1 — the core engine that makes your 3- and 4-drops play like 2- and 3-drops, enabling explosive early and mid-game curves).
• Playstyle: Wide knight swarm focused on cheap, efficient threats. Establish a board fast with low-cost knights, use card draw to fuel ongoing pressure, recur fallen knights for value, and close with amplified attacks via artifacts and positioning.
• Mana Base: Streamlined multi-color with minimized Water for easier threshold fixing (strong Earth/Fire focus with light Air splash). 30 sites prioritize knight-friendly locations like Tournament Grounds, Camelot, Avalon, and basic mana producers.
• Key Synergies: Cheap knights cluster for buffs; cheap artifacts that help you ramp. Artifacts like Round Table; card draw engines keep the gas flowing; cemetery recursion (via spells or effects like certain Arthurian pieces) brings back threats to maintain board presence without slowing down.
Strengths: Overwhelming early-to-mid board pressure, high resilience through recursion and draw, deceptive mana curve thanks to Templar, strong into longer games via value engines.
Weaknesses: Needs a solid early knight drop; can struggle if completely shut out of the board before recursion kicks in. This deck will struggle with control decks.
Mulligan Strategy (Absolutely Critical)
Mulligan is the difference between a smooth knight flood and a clunky game.
• Always mull high-cost minions (5-6 mana) — they clog your early curve.
• Mull combat-enhancing magics to dig for artifacts, card draw, and recursion pieces.
• Keep hands with at least one low-cost knight + good mana fixing.
• Aim for a perfect spellbook mana curve (1-mana play on turn 1, 2-mana on turn 2, etc.) to maximize Templar’s discount.
• Mull sites aggressively for threshold redundancy or if your opening thresholds don’t cover your hand. Prioritize hands that support early cheap knight drops and draw engines.
This build turns Templar’s discount into a relentless engine: cheap knights on curve, constant draw to refill, and cemetery recursion to keep coming back stronger.
