Strategy
This deck aims to be a budget Ponza deck on top of the Geomancer precon.
This is still a WIP, and it can be upgraded with more expensive cards to build a competitive deck.
Early strategy should be turbo placing sites, thanks to the Geomancer ability, while destroying your opponents' sites and resources.
Use the Geomancer ability on the rubble early to save sites in your hand. Keep them for later because you need them to box your enemy (i.e., block your enemy's possibility to place sites by surrounding their sites). You want to control most of the map.
Ponza/Sites destruction (generate rubble to use with Geomancer ability):
- Castle's Ablaze! destroys strong sites
- Hamlet's Ablaze! destroys common sites
- Raze destroys a site and all artifacts, you have to move a creature there or use infiltrate
- Sinkhole destroys resulting in 2 rubble
Turbo ramp cards that can help place rubble (and sites):
- Mix Ignis / Mix Terra: to help play Spells
- Frontier Settlers: Geomancer's ability on a creature, very very useful
- Kettletop Leprechayn / Land Survivor: to never have to draw sites with your avatar and to have sites to discard for Craterize
- Star-seeds of Uhr: strong against decks that abuse void and greatly help Geomancer
- Landmass: turbo ramp
Removal/Disruption tools that help contain and restrain the opponent:
- Sinterfee: still in the Ponza/resource-limiting section of the deck, can be really good against strong site abilities
- Root Spider: to address early threats
- Hillock Basilisk: to address mid game threats
- Maze Minotaur: if the enemy is boxed, their creatures can't move anymore
- Pudge Butcher: removal for many creatures, and annoying for the enemy if they have few sites
Then we address the key cards/wincons:
- Lord of Destruction: helps Ponza strategy while having a big body
- Rhitta Gawr of Snowdonia: to stop the game while continuing Ponza!
- Hellstar: to be used as final push towards a boxed enemy
- Conqueror Worm: steal sites and big body
- Infiltrate: steal powerful effect or threats, you don't have to attack, stall the game and continue Ponza
- Earthquake: use it to disrupt the line of sites created by the enemy and extend your site placing
- Craterize: to clear the board/stall and keep Ponza
