What the deck does
Pretty simple — you use cheap artifacts (Coral, Hand, Jars, Fang) to juice up your battle mage early, then start messing with your opponent’s board using Pudge or Meat Hook, preferably both!
You either:
- yank their avatar and beat down on them
- yank their minions and win trades with the artifacts.
- or just beat them down with buffed battlemage while disable minions protect your sites
Strengths / Weaknesses
+ Pros
- Fast early scaling
- Hook effects = big tempo swings
- Flexible strategy (hook or smash)
- buffs help push trades
– Cons
- Needs setup (artifacts or hooks)
- Gasses out against control and huge minions
Game Plan
Plan A (best case)
- Play early artifacts
- Drop Pudge or use Meat Hook
- Pull something →spin attack or negate damage with goswit/plate
- try and get the Avatar on your side of the board as soon as possible
If this works, you’re set.
Plan B (no hooks)
- Stack buffs on battlemage
- Use your disabling minions to control space
- Win fights with combat tricks
Opening Hand / Mull
Keep:
- Coral / Hand / Jars / Fang
- pudge
Nice to have:
- Meat Hook (if you already have early stuff)
Mull:
You want tempo ASAP!
Key Cards
Pudge + Meat Hook
This is the deck. Pulling units = free wins if used right.
Bailiff
Backup plan. Good body with hook(basically a bigger pudge).
Artifacts (core engine)
These make your deck work. Don’t waste them — use them to win trades.
Rhongomyniad
Closer. Slap it on something and end the game.
Matchups
Vs Aggro
- Trade early
- Don’t get greedy
- Hooks are defensive tools here
Vs Control
- Go fast
- Buff early
- Make them have answers
Vs Midrange
- Comes down to positioning
- Save hooks for value
- Don’t throw them away
Tech / Flex
- More removal → bury/disenchant (for their toolbox)
- amazon warriors
- More finishers → for consistency
Sites
Go:
- Homesite → forward
- then branch left/right back from homesite
Adjust based on where they go.
Positioning = everything for hooks.
TLDR
Buff early → hook their stuff → win trades → push in
If no hooks → just beat them down with big buffed battlemage
