This is an aggressive tempo Persecutor deck that utilizes cheap ways to get rid of enemy minions (Town Priest, Bind Evil, Holy Water, Begone). Thanks to persecutor they can be used against all enemy minions. This deck also has a demon sub-theme, but doesn't go crazy into it - overall we mostly play good and efficient minions that bring some utility or generate card advantage. The main appeal playing persecutor for this list is definitely the cheap removal package.
The deck uses an overall low mana curve as we want to be aggressive and tempo the enemy out - we don't want to win the lategame. Also, with the free mobility we get from persecutor, we want to stop playing sites and start hitting with him at some point - with with the Arbalest or the Trinkets. When not using his ability to brand enemies, remember to make sure to move him forward whenever possible.
Explanation on some card choices:
- Sinkhole seems to be quite important right now for aggressive decks, given the popularity of Water and defensive sites like troll Bridge & Ice Berg. We're also running quite low mana curve, so it doesn't hurt us as much as most opponents.
- Similarly, we have access to Hamlet's Ablaze! from the collection as additional way to get rid of defensive sites
- Molten Maar is great in this deck as the hellhounds have the demon type
- Searing Truth makes sure we don't run out of gas with our low mana curve and can be used to finish of opponents
- Wizard's Den is also in the deck to nor run out of gas too easily and give we're only splashing earth in the deck, our threshold requirements aren't particularly high
- Colicky Dragonettes, Quarrelsome Kobolds, Vile Imp, Arid Desert, Boulevard of Bones, Sir Morien and Simple Village all help handle enemy minions with ward. Those usually block & trade very well against us and we can't get rid of them as easily with our removal.
- Peacemaker Arbalest is quite nice on Persecutor thanks to his mobility and increased base power. It also helps get rid of enemy wards.
- Redmane Hyena - Graveyard based decks seem to be not as popular right now, so I wouldn't normally run Hyena in a decklist just for the graveyard hate - but it does have the demon type and our list has quite a couple demons to make sure we have some in the graveyard whenever we play her. Usually you want to play the Hyena in the later turn combined with a removal spell or the like, to just put another 4 power minion on the board.
- Angry Mob - I think this is quite an underrated card that allows for quite some blowouts by getting rid of some of the strongest threats in the game while adding a 3 power body to the board.
- Siege Giant - A very good 4 power minion that gives us additional utility, especially with minions like Fallen Angel, Colicky Dragonettes or Redcap Powries
