Silenced Bones is a Necromancer mid-range deck supported by a Beast package and a Silence package.
Silence got a huge buff in Gothic with (and ) and I believe the archetype can be a great anti-meta option.
The Silence part of the deck shuts down the majority of the card pool, and manh ability-based archetypes like Ward. It is also the enabler for many parts of the Beast package, and other above curve minions such as and . itself is , so we include this element in the deck.
, on the other hand, is the nature (pun not intended) of the Beast archetype, and it is also the only archetype that works with Silence. The mana efficient minions like become a menace, while can transition between a hook thrower and a 4-cost 5-power demon. is a 2+ card advantage for you if is not in play.
The general strategy is to pump out skeletons to attack AND defend (Silenced skeletons are great blockers!) using with spare mana whenever possible, while taking favourable trades with above-curve Silenced minions. The deck either overwhelms the board or stalls enough time with Silence and defensive sites like and for a straight to Death's Door, followed by a finisher such as or .
Peculiar card choices:
screams BEAST. If you're playing Beast, you should play him.
is your wincon against any draw-heavy decks like and . HARD MULLIGAN for it (3 sites + scry the sites deck). Otherwise, you'd better pray you out-draw them with or win the game in 5-6 turns (you won't, but you can try!).
is the vegetable that everyone refuses to play (graveyard hate) and is searchable via and with just 1.
is an Ordinary Beast with Lethal for 1 (Don't silence him, let him speak!).
is essentially a 3 spell for 4 in the form of two 2-power bodies. Very underrated!
is another good 1 Beast. You can use Silence to turn off his ability when you need to put him down early.
is a very good late-game board wipe in this particular deck because we play so many types of minions, letting us keep our board while deleting everything without Submerged (Silence also remove Submerged!).
is a 3-power body in the form of a site. Sometimes you may want to play this turn 3 to churn out , or turn 4 with an extra skelly instead of playing cards from your hand. serves similar roles, but having an Evil minion may be disadvantaged in some matchups such as or any users.
, , and are interchangeable depending on your local meta. My local meta loves cards like and .
Overall, this is a really fun deck to play and learn the basics of the game while being very budget-friendly. The list is kept as-is and may need to be optimised for future tournament plays (for example, would be a great inclusion, if I had it...).
