The Persecutest
Welcome to midrange hell. I've been playing this list a lot lately, its quickly becoming my favorite. There's still a bit of refinement to go but I think it's got good bones.
is a great utility oriented avatar that offers the opportunity to run very efficient interaction, gives free movement, and has 2 power as a baseline.
**PRIMER STILL WIP**
The first thing that comes up when considering Persecutor is removal, Persecutor hands us some of the best removal that would otherwise be highly situational, on a silver platter. , , , and are all amazing removal pieces in the hands of Percy. Begone! is particularly sweet because it explicitly does not target nor does it have locality restrictions, which means we can easily remove anything giving us grief, regardless of region or if it has stealth, and as a bonus banishing makes it all that much better for dealing with annoying value engines like or even generally against . Additionally being in fire allows us to run some of the best general use removal in the game with and really working to round out our single-target removal suite. Lastly a playset of [{Earthquake]] is a must have, both a way to clean out pesky minions/artifacts as well as help position the enemy avatar for a deathblow. Although with the prominence of water in the current meta the effectiveness of Earthquake isn't as reliable, so depending on how the meta evolves this may be swapped for a poison nova which works quite well with the free movement Percy affords us but I'm not sold on the swap just yet.
To finish rounding out the magics we've also got to help trade up some small guys or to just help a minion survive the fight. is a disgusting card I really wish was worded for life loss because it acts to trivialize the DD mechanic ... but that won't stop us from running it anyways to close out the game. is great, at worst it can crater the opponents life total but can also be a nice little pseudo-boardwipe, and lastly is basically just another Gift of the Wolf to either trade up with a really big enemy minion but more often than not is just to door the opponent.
