Welcome to the Air/Earth Deathspeaker deck! This is my primary deck and the only one I have built in paper at the moment. Because of that some staples may be missing because I don't currently own them/am planning to purchase them. With that in mind, here is the deck breakdown:
The Engine: Cemetery Rats, Sister of Avalon, Land Surveyor, Apprentice Wizard, Shallow Grave, Forgotten Tomb, Wizard's Den
These engine pieces allow me to aggressively fill the cemetery. These are the most important cards in the deck and give you multiple decision points to play with.
The Common Sense package: Carrion Beetles, Grain Sparrow, Virgin in Prayer, the magic ordinaries, Skeleton Mage
This deck foregoes the Toolbox package in favor of having these cards in the main deck. Skeleton Mage is a great card that makes the magic spells playable if you hit them with one of your mill effects mentioned above.
The Payoffs: Bane of Aventis, Gargantula, the Archangels, Master Necromancer, Grandmaster Wizard, Young Master Damion
These are the bigger minions you can recur. I'm still trying different versions of these out, but they all have their place. Damion was one of the reason I opted for no Toolbox in the deck since he alone takes up 4 collection slots (as I understand it) if you play him, then later recur him in a game.
The Sites: Altar of Malachai, Boneyard, Crossroads, Ersatz Platz, Orpheus' Crossing
The sites not listed here are likely obvious includes for threshold fixing, defensive utility, or staples in Deathspeaker decks. These sites, however, are less common. Altar seems useful but might be too inconsistent to use, so I'm trying it for now. Boneyard could be a double edged sword, but you should generally have a better cemetery than your opponent. Crossing is a special site, dangerous, but can be powerful by giving you a free Michael or Damion genesis; use at your own risk. Ersatz Platz is the other half of the collection; threshold fixing and controlling sites in one package.
Thinking of removing the Ersatz Platz package in favor of Silver Bullet for the cards like Monster Hunter and such. Mana is soooo important in deathspeaker and Platz "wastes" a site play.
Also considering Highland Falconer removal. It's a great value card, but it feels pretty bad to hit Vampire Bats with mill or draw just to enable 2 cards in the deck.
