Dark Depths is a Midrange water deck. I’ve opted Mono water vs air splash. Mono water allows me to run island Leviathan, sinkholes, and bureau. In addition, double omphalos has more outs.

Dark Depths leverages a monsters sub-theme. Usually abyssal assault would be a lackluster spell, but this deck leverages it to full effect. Silver bullet provides additional copies of spells that provide much needed reach. Water can struggle delivering the death’s door kill. This deck much less so.

Lastly, I’ve included panpipes of pnom. It provides frogs with power, doubles skeleton attack, and doubles abyssal assaults damage. Occasionally, this provides an aggressive opening.

Currently the deck feels well positioned. Pathfinder is a tough match up. I haven’t played Archimago much but I imagine it could be challenging as well. Every other avatar has felt 50/50 or better.

Current best result is top 32 in Ira’s league. Top 30 on the summit.
