I believe in KNIGHTS! And I am sure they will get better with each set :)
BACKGROUND:
Started with just fire and earth as they allowed for the most knights and for maximum threshold fixing. But they are too few knights to take advantage of templar's ability.
Quickly moved on to splashing air because I liked air, it gave some knight card draw and manoeuvrability. I was very conscientious to still keep the deck primarily FIRE and EARTH with AIR being secondary. This was to allow better chances of threshold fixing and to have utility sites. BUT I found the deck to not be resilient. So much effort was needed and the knights were not impactful enough/ died easily.
THE DECK:
Trading AIR for WATER was the solution for me. It gave the deck much more resilience. If you compare the knights in FIRE EARTH WATER vs FIRE EARTH AIR, it is pretty clear. They were more likely to stick till your next turn with the bigger bodies (4 Defence is a good gauge) and were more impactful right away. I lost some card draw but I found holding back cards and not over committing to the board helps with the overall intention of being a resilient minion based deck :)
With this variant, WATER is still kept as secondary element threshold reasons. It is thus why my minions on lower part of the mana curve are predominantly FIRE and EARTH based. The cheaper knights are great but there is an opportunity cost if too many are used. Vanguard Knights dont get better the more you draw them. The 3 mana COLOUR knights as well to a certain point. The 2 body is real weak.
Overall, the intention is find what play pattern suits KNIGHTS best and its seems to be more of an AGGRO MIDRANGE kinda deck.
It can't out aggro AGGRO so the deck is intentionally slower but with bigger minions. Smaller minions are needed to stay alive. (I used to have more spells vs minions to deal with the early onslaught from the enemy but minions help the late game by building a board presence)
But it can be on the faster side of MIDRANGE decks with beefy knights and Templars ability.
