Playstyle: Midrange with a bit of combo
Difficulty: 5/10
This deck is essentially a collection of two-card combos built on top of a solid midrange core that makes excellent use of Tawny.
Core Combos:
- Tawny + Trinkets/Desserts – This enables efficient trades in the early game.
- Ring of Morrigan + Trinkets – In the right matchup, this combo can be game-breaking and provides an almost unfair advantage.
- Sir Agravaine + Frogs/Tawny – You can eliminate nearly any threat or bring your opponent’s Avatar to deathsdoor, as each Frog will deal 3 damage when attacking adjacent to Agravaine.
- Boudicca + Frogs/Tawny – Similar to Agravaine, playing Boudicca right after casting Plague of Frogs can be devastating.
- Ruler of Thul + Frogs – This was strong in Alpha and remains so.
- Manuscript + Frogs – Another combo that was effective in Alpha and still holds up.
- Pact with the Devil + Tawny – This synergy is amazing, but be mindful of the potential tempo loss.
- Snowball + Frogs/Tawny – Once you Frogball, you never go back! 😆
Beast Package:
The Beast package is quite fun—it rarely makes a significant impact, but having a potential Lugbog Cat on turn 2 can be huge.
Card Choices:
A lot of the card choices are debatable and come down to personal preference. Generally, water minions have a harder time making the cut compared to fire minions due to Jihad.
While many Druid lists run Drums of Doom, I personally see it as more of a trap. If you’ve reached a point where its effect is beneficial, you’re already behind. I’d rather have a card that helps maintain pressure.
Sites:
Since the deck’s range is quite extreme and demanding, I don’t play a single site that doesn’t provide Threshold. So far, I’ve never had an issue reaching the required Threshold, but I also mulligan aggressively for dual/triple lands.
