This is the 50/30 updated version of my sixth-place GenCon 2024 AoE deck, which is posted here: https://curiosa.io/decks/clzh6wubd0028bluvh3t1sazv
Still tuning it for the new deck size requirements, which, having played now more than a few games under, just feel bad. It's a lot easier to get mana screwed by threshold, and consistency has gone down noticeably. I used to ramp to 5 mana per turn, now up to 6 w/ the addition of some lower-cost spells that could double cast in a turn.
Removed the wall of thorns and amazons, because I found if I was using common sense, I was searching for removal or utility magics. Frontier settlers are the replacement to help ramp you to 6 mana.
Would be interested in swapping vampires for Vivien and Rhitta, or one of them and another bury/lightning bolt (Or, hell, even another settlers).
Ideal ramp is up to 6 mana, playing minions on or above curve each turn, then either using atlas wanderer, earthquake or rift valley to move a site directly in front of your avatar to start swinging heavy. Casting helmet 2x per turn is a really good spot to be in. Best opening hand is a tower and two earth sites w/ pudge, to play turn 3 pudge.
Ring, grapple, lightning are all options for closing out games. Save them for when you need them.
