we love casting spells
The primary goal of the deck is to not die. Once you've accomplished that, generate value by recasting Blink, Common Sense, Browse, and Pendragon Legacy to rapidly dig through your deck, a process that can be assisted by Orb of Baal Berith, Sisters of Avalon, Merlin, Grandmaster Wizard, and Wizard's Den. Your end goal is to burn out your opponent, through some combination of large Arcane Barrages, a Craterize or two, and small burn spells like Lightning Bolt and Magic Missiles.
Earth and Air were chosen above the rest because the raw defensive power of Divine Healing and Earth's utility sites such as Pebble Paths and Gnome Hollows, in tandem with Air's ability to churn through its deck with cards like Grandmaster Wizard, Sisters of Avalon, Browse, and Blink, allows for a consistent yet explosive control deck capable of withstanding assaults from even the most powerful aggressive decks. We stay in two elements because the deck doesn't stand to gain much from going into Fire or Water, other than some mild redundancy in cards like Fire Bolts and Ice Lance, and a couple topend threats like Major Explosion. If we were to fully commit to Fire as our primary element, we would be able to take advantage of some of the most powerful cards in the game in Morgana, Vesuvius, and Field of Camlann, but none of those three cards are sustainable with Fire as a splash element. I think a Water version of the deck would look much different, and would overall play on a different axis, and thus doesn't belong in this deck.
Lightning Bolt and Magic Missiles were chosen in particular because of their ability to trade 1 for 1 with your opponent's charge minions, with the exception of Monstrous Lion. Charge minions appear to be defining the first trend in the Arthurian Legends meta, with aggressive piles of minions backed up by either a powerful Avatar ability like Witch or Sorcerer or a couple late game haymakers like Infernal Legion. We need answers to those Charge minions that aren't just sites, because inevitably our sites will fail, and minions will start to slip through our defenses.
