(OUTDATED PRIMER)
THE DECK THEME: This is a versatile, combo/control deck that focuses on playing [[Roots of Yggdrasil]], [[Candlemas Monks]], & [[Orb of Ba’al Berith]]. These three cards are the bread and butter of the deck & they are the keys to tipping the scales in your favor to win the game.
THE COMBOS:
[[Roots of Yggdrasil]] + [[Sinkhole]] & [[Bedrock]]
Roots of Yggdrasil destroys everything in the realm, including sites. You can take advantage of this destruction by playing BEDROCK.
gets around the wrath of [[Roots of Yggdrasil]] and does not get destroyed. Smart placement of BEDROCK can put you up on mana & block your opponent from playing sites after blowing up [[Roots of Yggdrasil]].
SINKHOLE & CRATERIZE is the only way in this deck to destroy your ROOTS so use them wisely.
[[Candlemas Monks]] + [[Crave Golem]]
When you play a Candlemas Monks in range of a Crave Golem and pass the turn, it will skip your opponents entire next turn, (except for start of turn triggered abilities). Which essentially gives YOU an EXTRA TURN!
You can then chain this combo by playing your Candlemas Monks Raise Dead + Kythera Mechanism to skip up to FIVE TURNS!!!
THE FINISHERS:
is a 5 power 5 cost minion that you can tutor with common sense and play after destroying a roots with at least one earth threshold out. This puts your opponent on a four turn clock if they don’t have an answer.
is a 4 power, 5 cost minion with one air threshold. If you can spare the time to wait one extra turn to destroy roots, you can destroy roots and then play an air site to summon roaming monster anywhere on the board where you can get damage in. Also ordinary for common sense! (OMITTED FROM LIST)
is a 5 power, 7 cost minion with CHARGE. This can be a beater in a game where you aren’t finding roots and the charge ability can guarantee your swing for 5 with proper placement. It is also an ordinary which can be tutored by Common Sense.
is one of the best value engines in the deck. With enough setup this can outright win you the game if left unanswered. Orb of Ba’Al Berith can let you copy any magic spell cast nearby ONCE PER TURN. Gigantism, Browse, Divine Healing, Raise Dead, Border Militia, etc. all of these casting twice can swing the game in your favor if you are able to stabilize. Remember Orb of Ba’al Berith includes your opponent and opponents spell casters so your placement matters if you don’t want your opponent to get those free copies!
P.S. Play this deck with caution. It will make your friends sad :,(
