The Realm Is a Big Place

Published 18 September 2026

Over the past few months, we’ve spent a lot of time with two of the Realm’s inhabitants: the Frost Mage and the Lavamancer.

We’ve crossed frozen landscapes with the Frost Mage, stepped into scorched territory with the Lavamancer, explored some of the spells and strategies that define their rivalry, and hinted at things to come.

Before we set out into the wider world awaiting us in Baldassare’s Travels, and with Frost Mage vs. Lavamancer arriving on November 13, it’s worth remembering something important:

The Realm is a very big place.

More than a Theory

Each time you play Sorcery, you create a new story in the Realm, and, depending on what you believe, perhaps a new version of the Realm itself. Sometimes its geography is orderly. Sometimes it makes absolutely no sense. Of course, in Sorcery, both can be correct.

Regardless of which theory you subscribe to, it’s safe to say that everything in the Realm is connected (although some insist that it actually isn’t).

Something New, Something Old

Whatever you believe about its shape, one thing everyone can agree on is that the Realm is home to all sorts of unusual Beasts. Some are newly discovered creatures waiting to block an unsuspecting Sorcerer’s path. Others appear to have wandered into the present from somewhere far more prehistoric.

Together, these Beasts show just how strange, and how old, some corners of the Realm can be.

And these are only a few of the creatures we’ve encountered so far. Who knows what manner of Beasts might be discovered during our future travels?

A New Mechanic to Come

Of course, creatures aren’t the only dangers waiting out there. A realm this large still has plenty of unexplored places, and not everything lurking within them is immediately visible. While some dangers can be seen from a distance, others remain hidden until the moment they strike.

Next week we’ll reveal something new debuting in Frost Mage vs. Lavamancer.

You have been warned.
