ELD's Time Vault to Host New England Courtesan Cup Qualifier

On Sunday, May 5th, ELD’s Time Vault Games kicks off the New England Sorcery: Contested Realm Courtesan Cup Qualifier, a part of a larger fan-run series of events culminating in the Courtesan Cup finals in June.

A bastion of TCG play since 2018, ELD’s Time Vault Games hopes to translate their long-held passion into one of the largest Sorcery events in New England, capable of seating 42 players in their game store located in Bellingham, Massachusetts.

A Growing Community

Eric has seen his local community enthralled by the mechanics and art that Sorcery, noting “The art direction is perfect!” As a self-proclaimed lifelong competitive gamer, Eric notes the blending of form and function allows for an experience unparalleled in TCGs. “The Avatar gives players a stronger personal connection to the game, the Atlas deck is a brilliant design tweak,’ he shares, “it’s like [Sorcery] took the promises of earlier TCGs, and found ways to fulfill them.”

Courtesan Cup Qualifier

The Eld Sorcery Open positions itself as a qualifier event in the fan-organizer Courtesan Cup, a series of events looking to bring Sorcerers together from around the United States. While several of these events are taking place in Maryland, Florida, and West Virginia, Eric notes that what sets the “New England Courtesan Cup” apart is its “unparalleled support from the community.” Generous donations have expanded the prize pool, offering additional rewards for both the Top 8 finishers and door prizes. Notably, the Champion will be bestowed a custom wooden deck box, crafted with care by the store owner.

History in the Making

Beyond the thrill of competition and the lure of prizes, Eric hopes attendees will carry away unforgettable experiences, commemorated by an event-specific pin. “Just like someone can never relive the first concert experience,” Eric shares, he hopes to position this event as one that will provide participants with fond memories and a place in the history of the early events of Sorcery: Contested Realm.
