When we first shared Avatar of the Realm, we described it as the kickoff to Organized Play 2026, a flagship gathering of Sorcery.
After a lot of planning and honest conversation, we’ve decided to move Avatar of the Realm to Q4 of this year, rather than holding it in the first half of the year.
What’s Happening and Why
An event like this asks a lot, and the delay allows us to properly ramp up the team to deliver an experience that meets the community’s expectations, secure a venue that reflects the gathering we want to create, and ensure that when we put something like this into the world, it stands as a clear declaration of Sorcery’s values and how we intend to do things moving forward.
As with everything we do at Erik’s Curiosa, we’d rather take the time to build it properly than rush it out too soon.

What this Means
Organized Play 2026 is still very much happening. Store programs, the judge initiative, Gen Con, our SCG CON events, as well as numerous community events, will continue to roll out and build momentum throughout the year.
The difference is that the Avatar of the Realm is shifting from being the starting bell to the crescendo; a gathering shaped by a year of stories, rivalries, travels, and shared tables.
The Vision
Avatar of the Realm is meant to be Sorcery’s flagship gathering. A space where mastery and creativity sit side by side. Where players, artists, collectors, and judges share the same room, and where the realm feels less like an idea and more like a place.
By moving to Q4, we give ourselves, and you, the time to ensure that when we gather, it feels worthy of the name.
Thank you for your patience and for continuing to help shape what the realm becomes!
