Jussi Pylkäs is a 2D and concept artist from Oulu, Finland. A self-described "doodler", constantly sketching monsters or other creatures when he should be doing something else, his illustrations bring several iconic Sorcery: Contested Realm cards to life.
Jussi found his way to illustrating through comics, then gradually transitioned into doing concept work for indie games.
As a lifelong enthusiast of card and miniature games, Sorcery is very close to his heart.
(He also plays the game and loves it!)
Preferred Medium:
In recent years, I’ve been working primarily in the game industry, so I’ve become accustomed to doing most of my work digitally. Even before working on games, when I was creating comics, I always colored them digitally. So, when I started working on Sorcery, I had to relearn traditional coloring techniques. I’ve found that acrylics suit me best, and I’m not even sure if I would have the patience for oils. Black markers and inks have also always been reliable tools for me.
